Fun ways to determine fantasy draft order?

I'm the commissioner of my fantasy football league, and our draft is a ways away, but I'm trying to think of creative ways to determine our fantasy draft order. If any of you have seen the show The League, in the first episode of season 1, they draw numbers corresponding to kids in a potato sack race, and order of the kids' finish is the order of the draft. Something along these lines.

My original idea was to go to the dog track and draw numbers corresponding to dogs, and the order of their finish is the draft order. Unfortunately, there are no dog races going on in August, and they only run 8 dogs anyway (10-team league.)

Any of you guys have any ideas that are a bit more creative than drawing names out of a hat? Also, it can be raunchy or offensive, it's a bunch of college dudes.

10 Man case race/mini keg race. Order of finish determines draft order. We did that before and it was a blast, especially as a couple finished and taunt the rest of them.

We've thought of doing something like this, but it really needs to have some sort of element of randomness.

Give each midget a number, then draw numbers, set up a wrestling ring and let them have a royal rumble. The fist one eliminated that number goes last and it builds up until there is a winner which picks first.

Snail race

We did it in highschool. Each person gets a snail and puts a dot of different colored paint on its shell to recognize it. Put all the snails in the middle of a outlined cirlce. First snail outside the predetermined circle gets 1st pick. And so on and so forth.

Sidenote- dont make it a huge circle.

If you want random, pick a random sport (or not so random sport...could go with baseball....or womens world cup right now). Pick out around 10 or however many games on a given night (or over a couple of days) and have everyone pick the same game. Determine a tiebreaker (total runs or goals for all matchups combined) and have everyone pick the winners. It should provide some entertainment and will be pretty random while still providing entertainment as you can always find games on TV.

There was also another time where we each drew a random Nascar driver..order they finished was the order of the draft. Also did that with race horses one year.

Auction is the best way to draft. I fully agree with you, but you still must have a draft order.
